New York Cares Day - UNC Team
Volunteer with fellow Tar Heels on the UNC General Alumni Association team for the 18th Annual New York Cares Day!
On Saturday, October 17, we will be joining 8,000 volunteers to revitalize more than 100 New York City public schools. We’ll paint murals and classrooms, add bright new line games to school playgrounds, reorganize libraries and storage closets, and so much more. We hope you can join us to provide thousands of school children with cleaner, safer, and more stimulating learning environments.
New York Cares is New York City’s leading volunteer organization. They work with 1,000 non-profit organizations and public schools throughout the five boroughs, providing critical volunteer service that touched the lives of 450,000 disadvantaged New Yorkers last year. NewYork Cares Day is more than New York City’s largest day of service – it’s also an important fundraiser for New York Cares. Just like a walk-a-thon, the money you raise in support of your service will keep volunteer project going all year long. Our goal is to have 35 volunteers and to raise $100 per volunteer.
